HB 6695 has passed the House with an overwhelmingly bi-partisan vote (151-8!) and has moved through the Senate unanimously! The Governor has signed the bill into law and conversion therapy is officially banned in CT – and we couldn’t have done it with you! We also couldn’t have done it without the support of our legislators in the House and Senate.
We’re asking one more thing of you all, and that’s to quickly reach out and send a note to your legislators one more time about their vote on HB 6695. Whether your legislator was a supporter or one of the representatives to vote against the bill, we want them to know that their vote sent a message to LGBTQ+ people in Connecticut. HB 6695 has officially passed out of the Public Health Committee in an amazingly supportive vote! We’re celebrating this victory in moving the bill forward, but the fight is far from over! It’s time to give a shout out to committee members who voted to support banning conversion therapy in CT! If your legislator is on the Public Health Committee, we need you to give them a quick call or send an email to say thank you for voting to protect LGBTQ youth in CT. The Public Health Committee is expected to vote on HB 6599: An Act Concerning the Protection of Youth from Conversion Therapy on Friday (3/24) at 11:30am and we need to you to act now!
